Neil’s literary journey began at the tender age of 8 when he first discovered his passion for storytelling. Born in 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, Neil’s family soon relocated to the picturesque New Jersey shore, where he spent his formative years. This change of scenery would later influence his unique writing style, blending the vibrancy of city life with the serenity of coastal living. Neil’s dedication to writing only grew stronger with time, becoming an integral part of his daily routine.
Neil’s academic pursuits took him to Southern Illinois, where he attended college and eventually settled in Carbondale after graduation. It was during this period that he honed his craft, culminating in the completion of his novel, ‘Har Megiddo’, in 1975. Endorsed by acclaimed novelist and university professor John Gardner, Neil’s work caught the attention of esteemed editor and Russian literature translator, Michael Glenny. Their collaboration led to the refinement of ‘Har Megiddo’ and his subsequent novel, ‘Houses Without Porches’ (1983). Neil’s writing, though temporarily sidelined, remained a testament to his creative perseverance.
After a successful entrepreneurial venture with his wife and business partner, Jan Suzanne Williams-Krasner, Neil transitioned to a life of retirement in South Florida. The year 2020 marked a turning point, as Neil shared his seminal work, ‘Har Megiddo’, with JanSuzanne, paving the way for its introduction to a wider audience. With a lifetime of experiences, travels, and accomplishments, Neil S.
